The quietest thing in the room, and often the first thing guests mention. Four
ounces of cosmetic-grade perfume, a handful of fiber reeds, and a steady scent
that asks nothing of you. No flame to watch, no outlet to find, no switch to
remember. Flip a few reeds when you want it stronger. Flip them back when you
don't.
- Continuous fragrance with nothing to switch on
- No flame, no electricity, no batteries
- You control the strength by flipping more or fewer reeds
- 4 oz of cosmetic grade perfume in every vessel
- A piece that looks intentional on a console or a vanity
- Refillable, so the vessel stays and only the scent changes
The reeds draw perfume up from the vessel and release it into the air at the
pace the room takes it. No heat and no power, which is why the scent stays even
instead of peaking and fading. Flip the reeds and you expose saturated ends to
the air, which lifts the intensity for a day or two before settling again.
1. Remove the cap and insert the reeds.
2. Let them saturate for about an hour before you expect much scent.
3. Flip the reeds to refresh it, every few days or as often as you like.
4. Flip more reeds for a stronger room, fewer for something subtle.
Keep it out of direct sunlight and away from heat, and it will last longer.
Set it on a tray: the oil can mark wood and lacquered surfaces.
