Diffusers vs. Dispensers

“Dispensers... diffusers... same difference” you say. “Not so fast,” we reply!

We’re here to set the record straight. What are the pros and cons of each system, and what makes them different from one another? What we call dispensers are those devices that work through the HVAC (heating, ventilation, and air conditioning) system. Diffusers, on the other hand, are those that stand alone.

Through the AC the whole space is scented. The perfume is also distributed evenly and consistently. Sure, just like you might feel a draft under an AC vent, you might feel the perfume more strongly near a vent too, but the air is reaching every nook and cranny of the space. So your perfume is too. If it didn’t smell so darn good everywhere it would otherwise be hard to tell… The molecules are invisible! That means you don’t see the perfume coming out, you just feel it.

Stand Alones are perfect for when the AC is shared between areas and not all of them want to be scented. People feel pretty strongly about their perfumes sometimes… and we definitely understand that. No need to start WWIII debating between Hope and White Velvet. That being said, the convenience of being able to scent many parts of one space with different scents comes at a cost. The perfume is a little less efficient. Imagine it… when you walk by it, the scent is stronger. And it fades as you walk away. So you don’t get that same, even perfume everywhere. Also, the molecules are a bit larger. This way you can literally see a bit of mist coming out of the machine! That’s perfume.

Both options come with different size machines and features that can be programmed on a schedule or timer. So that’s a great way to maintain control of fragrance changes and expenses on your own terms no matter which system you choose.

So, which kind of system will you choose? Ultimately, when scenting your home with our perfumes you can’t go wrong. Regardless of what system you’re planning using, we wouldn’t say we’re worth a try if we didn’t truly believe in all our products.

Still need help weighing out the pros and cons? Regardless of who is perfuming your home, you can always come to us with questions, comments, and concerns regarding home perfumes. We’re happy to be your scent consultants. Really!
